Animake Terms of Service

1. About These Terms
These Terms govern your use of Animake (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
2. The Service
Animake is a journaling app for making one story a day out of four panels (video or photo). Works are stored on your device by default.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 18, you need a parent or guardian's consent.
- If you live in the European Economic Area, the minimum age set by your country applies.
- You may not use the App if you were previously removed for violating these Terms.
4. Accounts
Signing in is optional. If you do sign in, you are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. How Long Works Are Kept (Important)
Animake is built around the story of a single day, so works are not kept indefinitely.
- All works: 3 days from creation
After that, works are deleted from your device automatically and cannot be recovered. Export anything you want to keep to your camera roll or via the share sheet before it expires. We are not liable for expired works.
6. Your Content
- You keep the copyright in everything you create.
- You grant us a limited license to store, copy, transcode, and display your content only as needed to operate and improve the App. We will not use your works in advertising or promotion without your permission.
- Unless you turn on cloud sync, your content never leaves your device.
7. Filming Responsibly
When you film people, artworks, or private property, obtain the subject's consent and comply with applicable law, including rights of publicity, copyright, privacy, and any local filming restrictions. We are not responsible for your infringement of third-party rights.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- break the law or public standards of decency;
- infringe copyright, likeness rights, privacy, or other rights;
- post sexually explicit material, child sexual exploitation, violence, discrimination, hate speech, or content that encourages self-harm;
- harass, bully, threaten, or impersonate others;
- spread misinformation, spam, or unsolicited promotion;
- reverse engineer the App, access it without authorization, or use automated tools against it;
- circumvent any feature limit or restriction.
9. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours, and confirmed violations result in removal of the content and may result in suspension of the account that posted it.
10. How to Report
Use "Report a problem" in Settings to report objectionable content or abusive behavior ([email protected]). We review reports within 24 hours. You can also stop sharing with a group by leaving it.
11. Groups and Invites
- Panels you post to a group are visible to that group's members. Do not post anything you do not want them to see.
- Invite links and codes can be forwarded by the people who receive them. Share them only with people you trust.
- We are not responsible for the conduct of other group members.
12. Rewarded Ads
- Some features (saving to your device, joining extra works, and similar) require watching a rewarded ad.
- Ads are provided by third-party ad networks. We are not responsible for ad content.
- Watching ads is optional, but you cannot use those features without watching.
13. Exporting to Your Device
You can save works to your camera roll or export them through the share sheet. Once exported, the files are yours to manage.
14. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or discontinue features, or discontinue the App entirely. If we shut the App down, we will give notice where reasonably possible and a fair window to export your works.
15. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or freedom from errors, to the extent permitted by law.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months. Liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law is unaffected.
17. Changes to These Terms
We will announce changes in the App or in the App Store listing, and will notify you before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the change.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
